Bac Ha market is considered as one of the most fascinating open–air, isolated market in the region. The sundat market, which still retains the local quaint and authentic being of the main tourist route, take places near China border and is attended by a wide range of hill tribes including some coming for the either side of the border. The night before (Thursday / Saturday): Picked up at the hotel in Hanoi. Transfer to the Station to catch the night train to Lao Cai Station (340Km far from Hanoi). Overnight on train ( 4 berth soft sleeper cabin with A/C).
Day 1: Lao Cai - Sa Pa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai (B, L, D)
Arrive in Laocai station at 6h20 - 7h00: Pick up by minibus to Sapa. Check in hotel. After having breakfast and shower, we'll start the trip to Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages of Black H'Mong tribe. Visit H'Mong hydro electric built by French and enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and very beautiful sceneries along the way. Then back to Sapa for lunch in our beautiful mountain view restaurant. The rest of the afternoon is free to explore the town on your own.
Dinner and enjoy the night in Sapa town. Overnight in Sapa
Day 2: Sa Pa - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van (B, L, D)
After breakfast, you'll check out and leave your luggage in the hotel and trek down to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Dzay tribes (Lao Chai is a commune composed by three large villages with over 100 families of the Black H’mong ethnic. From a high point of the main road 8 Km from Sapa town,Click to enlarge the picture great view of the whole village open wide to offer the marvelous panorama of the village, backed by high mountains and facing the river. The H’mong people in this village experience rice intensive farming on the lower land near the bottom of the valley as main source of earning while growing corn on the mountain slopes at the back of the village), keep going along the bottom of Muong Hoa valley to get Ta Van village which is the most beautiful ethnic village in the area.
Have lunch in Dzay family. Transfer back to Sapa to check in hotel.
Day 3 : Bac Ha - Lao Cai - Hanoi (B, L, D)

After breakfast, tour guide and bus pick you up from hotel to Bac Ha market. Join the market to further discover the Flower H'Mong, Red Dzao people, and go shopping here. Visiting the market, you will have chance to see traditional blacksmiths repairing the hooks of the local farmers using open fires, men surrounding piles of tobacco and checking the quality, resulting in beautiful smoky sights, colourful women selling small pigs or cute little puppies in cages. The Flower H’Mong women are extremely colourful, with their gorgeous attire in vibrant colours, layers of dresses and underskirts of printed and embroidered fabrics, heads covered with Bac Ha sapa interesting shaped and folded scarves. Have lunch then free to wander around the small town of Bac Ha until transferred to Lao Cai city.
Have dinner in Lao Cai then catch the overnight train back to Hanoi.
Arrive in Hanoi early in the morning next day. Back to your hotel on your own. (A morning taxi to the old quarter from the station usually costs 50,000VND).
